The importance of 5 elements or Panchbootha or Panchtatva have been described in ancient texts and philosophies. The universe is made of 5 elements and human body is in sync with those 5 elements. If the balance of these 5 elements get disrupted, then our body suffers from various ailments. Sounds simple, but keeping the balance is not easy.

It goes without saying that air is one of the most important elements of the Panchtavta, because we cannot live without it for more than a few minutes. However, the question is are we taking in this element in right quantity and of good quality. That is what we cannot work on and improve our health miraculously. You got it right, simply breathing properly or deep breathing every day in the morning in natural environment or open area, will work wonders for your health.
Earth- One of The Neglected Elements
When was the last time you stepped on natural soil without your shoes or barefoot? Yes, we have lost touch with earth, the soil which is an element, deficiency of which can cause loss of calcium from bones, general weakness and a host of other ailments. If possible, makes sure that you touch soil with hands or barefoot for a few minutes daily. I know it is difficult for those who do not have garden or open area with some soil. Touch the soil in any form, at least once a week if it is not possible to do so daily.
Fire-Are You Taking Enough of It?
This element maintains the balance of heat in your body and keeps various functions of your body working as naturally as possible. When you do not take in enough fire element, the imbalance causes a lot health issues such as slow digestion, acidity, diabetes and toxin formation and more. Taking some fire element every day. Soak in sunlight for at least 15 – 20 minutes every day from the front side of your body as well as from back so that your spine can absorb some sunlight.
Water- This element is the key
72% of our body is water, is well known. So, drinking enough water is recommended by every nutritionist, health practitioner and health conscious people. For every 20 kg of weight, you must drink a liter of water, if you are 60 kg, you must drink 3 liters of this element every day without fail. If you do not drink the recommended quantity of water, then sinusitis, blood clotting or thinning, constipation, cold and many other health issues occur. So, maintain a balance of this element.
Space- The Spiritual Element
Our body has ether or space in the hollow cavities of our body in the form of cosmic rays, light radiations and radio frequencies through which we can connect to the universe or God. Imbalance of this element causes speech problems, mental diseases, epilepsy, thyroid and throat problems.
Yoga and meditation can of course bring the balance of these 5 elements back to their natural form. All you need to do is try practicing it regularly and systematically, apart from the ways mentioned above that can help a lot.
